YouTuber IShowSpeed Announces He’ll Run 100 Meter Dash At 2028 Olympics; Internet Reacts With Memes

During his panel appearance at the recently held ComplexCon Las Vegas, Darren Jason Watkins Jr., aka IshowSpeed, aka Speed, claimed that he will attempt the 100-meter dash at the upcoming 2028 Olympics. The 19-year-old YouTuber and influencer who is known for his quirky live streams, including growing to Tunak Tunak with Daler Mahendi and getting R-Koed at WWE, among others, has a cult following despite being banned on a couple of platforms earlier for his misdemeanor. In November, IShowSpeed took part in an exhibition challenge organized by the world’s most subscribed YouTuber, MrBeast, to race against Olympian Noah Lyles in a 50-meter dash. Noah is the reigning 100-meter champion at the Paris 2024 Olympics. The influencer lost the dash to the current fastest man in the world. The loss cost him $100,000 and changing the user name for 24 hours. IShowSpeed stated that had the match been for 40 meters, he would have won.

So what does the internet (besides his acolytes and fan base) think of IShowSpeed’s Olympic 2028 dreams? “Delusional,” wrote one, while another commented that he would probably won’t even make it to the qualifiers. Others made fun of IShowSpeed with memes.
